how should I describe her? witty? outgoing? crazy

All of the above.

I met Maluca in the new york city nightlife scene about

8+ years ago.

Never would I have imagined collaborating on such a

major project that is MALUCA MALA the musician, the

artist, the fashion icon.

Rewind back to February of 2009, I got a phone call from

(my dear friend) Sabel about doing a choreography gig

in Austin Texas for SXSW. I wasnt sure if I wanted to do

the gig. But Sabel cursed me out and said "you love dancing

it will be a great experience for you"

Fast forward a little bit to March 2009, I did MALUCA's very first

show in SXSW. And it was a lot of fun.

When we arrive to new york we were doing shows left and right

and I asked her "where is your logo", you need a website.

So I designed her logo and her website and evenutally became

her art director.

Fast forward to 2012, MALUCA has become a music sensation

and fashion icon in New York City. I am really happy to know

and be apart of MALUCA MALA.

So, that being said, I want to take the time out now to say

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MALUCA!! :)

I'm thinking of painting the outside of my house exactly like

the first photo. All of my floors in my house are wood, so painting

it the Richard Wood style would be just perfect to compliment

the exterior. The furniture is a must, super playful and colorful.

Muppets x Opening Ceremony

This season Opening Ceremony collaborated with

The Muppets on a capsule collection featuring some

of my favorite muppets, Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo etc.

The cooler thing is that the muppets are actually

wearing opening ceremony clothing. Super rad or what?!

Fido Dido

Fido Dido is a cartoon character created by Joanna Ferrone

and Sue Rose. Rose first developed the character in 1985

doodling on a napkin in a restaurant in New York City.

They later stenciled Fido T-shirts with the credo:

"Fido is for Fido, Fido is against no one"

Within a year they became a wearable VIP pass into the

hottest nightclubs in New York City.

Fido Dido was licensed to PepsiCo in around 1988, but the

character did not receive much attention or popularity until

the early 1990's on numerous products, particularly stationary.

Theres something about doodling that I really enjoy and

growing up seeing Fido Dido on t-shirts, stationary, commercials, etc

always inspired me to draw, invent my own characters, objects or

scenery.

I came across a bunch of the originals commercials on youtube from

the 90's that were so cleverly animated and illustrated.

Here's to doodling and taking a simple idea to the top.

I really enjoy listening to every song on the album.

OC x "LOLA"

Opening Ceremony has been doing it so big these days and

I was excited to hear that they were starting a new party called

SHOWS. Plus they wanted to premiere MALUCA's new music

video called "LOLA" for the first night of their party.

The video stars Jenny Shimizu (90's CK model, actor) as

Dr. Pow Pow, Kisha Batista (model/actor), Gisele Xtrava of the

House of Xtravaganza and many more.

The music video sparks a plethora of hair performances and some

of the best styling I've seen in a long time.

Music video was styled by none other than Jason Farrer.

Last week thursday it went down New York City style.

While the folks sipped on drinks provided by Kanon Vodka,

the LOLA music premiered at midnight and we

(myself, Maluca & Sabel) performed right after the LOLA

video played and got every one mad hype singing to all

the songs!

With guest djs JD Samson (MEN), Deemehlow and

Ghetto Gothik, the Djs tore a new hole at the West Way

Nightclub.

Those in attendance included Zoe Kravitz, Dj Enuff, and many

more.

Spent an amazing 3 days in Salisbury, Connecticut.

It was one of the most peaceful most relaxing days of my life.

Food was organic (beef, corn, eggs, etc), air was fresh and

so clean. Took a stroll down to the lake a couple of times to cool off.

At night it was a little brisk so we lit the fireplace.

Always great to escape from New York.

brother to me and the ultimate of all inspirations in my

life.

to a PHD major at Brown University, Carlos deserves it all.
